Honey Jews

A professor of mine used to refer to honey dews all the time as part of complicated analogies about global economics, and he had a funny accent, so it came out "honey jews". Ha-ha. Contact: honeyjews (at symbol) gmail (dot symbol) com

This is the cover for a mixtape I never actually made. I came up with that great title, found that great photo in National Geographic, and used the Crass font to tie it all together. Breathtaking, right?

I forget what was on this, but this was maybe my favorite American Apparel ad of the year, and the title came from Sexy Beast.

This had the title song, all three versions of “Yeah” by LCD Soundsystem, “Hummingbird” by Wilco which we saw performed on the Late Show and liked even though Wilco sucks. All great songs, but none really even stand up to the strikingness of this photo.

Art came from an editorial Larry David wrote for Rolling Stone about not eating tuna because of health effects. “Dirty Thirty” comes from The World According to Garp.

The title was a line in the poem about Jamaica that inspired the film Life and Debt, which I saw at school while an International Relations major at SFSU.

Raveonettes  were a band I never had enough interest in to actually pay to see, but then they played an instore at Amoeba, so I went, and they were pretty dull, except this one song that ruled, so I downloaded it illegally. The punk song about a train I heard on DJ Brendan’s show on KDVS, and the northern soul song about a train I heard later that night on Tim Matranga’s show on KDVS.
